Overnight oats with berries

Creamy berry-streaked overnight oats with visible rolled oats, fresh berries, and toasted almonds.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups mixed berries, divided
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup toasted sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Whisk milk, yogurt, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. so no dry pockets remain.

  2. Crush 1 cup berries lightly with lemon juice and fold them through the oats only once or twice to leave streaks.

  3. Divide into four covered containers and refrigerate at 40°F or colder for at least 8 hours and no more than 3 days.

  4. Before serving, stir each portion from the bottom and loosen with milk if it no longer falls easily from a spoon.

  5. Top with remaining fresh berries and toasted almonds immediately before eating.
